Behavioral Health Therapist or Counselor | Eating Disorders

About the role

Facility: Sanford Broadway Med Ctr, 801 Broadway N, Fargo, ND 58102, USA. Shift: 8‑hour day shifts. Schedule: Full time, 40 hours per week. Join the Compassionate, Multidisciplinary Eating Disorders Team providing evidence‑based care to adults and adolescents (ages 12 and older) with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and related conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual therapy sessions
• Facilitate group therapy
• Provide family‑based therapy for adolescent patients
• Perform diagnostic assessments and onsite crisis assessment/intervention
• Determine need for ongoing care based on clinical ability, medical, and psychosocial complexity
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Continually assess patient progress and revise diagnoses, treatment plans, and interventions
• Document treatment sessions
• Provide patient progress updates to the interdisciplinary team as needed
• Educate patient support members about patient issues and interventions
• Refer patients for additional clinical services or specialists when appropriate
• Stay current on emerging issues in the behavioral health profession
• Support both inpatient and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) levels of care, managing a caseload of approximately 6–8 patients at capacity

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related Behavioral Health Sciences required; graduation from an accredited school preferred
• License must be in good standing in the state(s) of practice
• State‑specific license requirements:
  • Iowa: LMHC, LMSW, or LISW
  • Minnesota: LGSW, LAMFT, LPC (or seeking LPCC/LMFT licensure tracks and meeting Clinical Trainee criteria)
  • North Dakota: LAPC, LPC, LPCC, LMSW, LCSW, or LMFT
  • South Dakota: LPC, LPC‑MH, LMFT, CSW, or CSW‑PIP
  • Wisconsin: LPC, LMFT, LCSW, APSW, or LPC‑IT (obtained within 90 days of hire)
• If required, valid class D driver’s license and auto insurance; maintain a good driving record and have access to a personal vehicle for position duties
• New graduates actively obtaining appropriate licensure may be considered with evidence of behavioral health experience/exposure

Pay

Salary range: $28.00 – $46.50 per hour. Sign‑on bonus available.
