Behavioral Health Therapist - Eating Disorder Clinic
About the Role
The Behavioral Health Therapist provides intensive behavioral health services including diagnostic assessments, individual, group and family-based psychotherapy, and crisis intervention as needed. Responsible for collaborating with patients and families in developing an individualized treatment plan that specifically addresses identified areas of concern. Assists patients and their families in understanding ways to effectively manage symptoms and behaviors attributed to the identified behavioral health diagnosis(s). Helps families address complex personal and environmental difficulties which interfere with effective social functioning.
Responsible for the delivery of clinical services to the patient, the patient’s family, and other persons significant to the patient. Works independently, is well organized, and identifies opportunities to collaborate with other units/departments within the hospital. Participates as a collaborative member of the interdisciplinary team and community agencies. Demonstrates and models Dayton Children’s values through effective interaction with patients, families, and treatment team members while providing excellent care.
Responsibilities
- Provide diagnostic assessments, individual, group, and family-based psychotherapy.
- Deliver crisis intervention services as needed.
- Collaborate with patients and families to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Assist patients and families in managing symptoms and behaviors related to behavioral health diagnoses.
- Address complex personal and environmental difficulties impacting social functioning.
- Work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and community agencies.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling required.
- One of the following certifications required:
- LSW Ohio - Ohio Licensed Social Worker (Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) (Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board)
- LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor (Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist Board)
Schedule
Full time, 40 hours per week, day shift (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) serving the Eating Disorder Clinic at the South Campus Behavioral Health Center.
