Essential Job Functions

  • Treats patients with complex and co-occurring diagnoses.
  • Develops new services for the work group, such as group therapy offerings.
  • Learns and implements evidence-based interventions and protocols for behavioral health conditions.
  • Collaborates with the patient's clinical team in planning and facilitating their therapeutic services.
  • May supervise student interns from own discipline.
  • Provides onboarding activities to new employees in the work group.
  • Represents team at Division and Department meetings, providing updates of work and outcomes.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and performs work within position licensure, as required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Master of Social Work, Counseling or related field.
  • Credentials/Licenses: Valid, unrestricted applicable license to provide mental health services in the State of Michigan. State specialty certification (such as Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or Infant Mental Health Specialist) may be required for some positions.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience providing mental health clinical services. Preferred additional experience or training in treatment for special populations.
