About the role
The Inova Keller Center is looking for a dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist I to join the team. Our comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs and an innovative special education school support families throughout Northern Virginia. This therapist will work primarily with our Intensive Outpatient Program and will also lend support to our Partial Hospitalization Program. This role is full-time day shift, Monday through Friday, 10:30 am – 7:00 pm. The Keller Center is located in Fairfax, VA.
Responsibilities
- Performs duties under the clinical supervision of an approved clinical supervisor registered with the DBHDS, or receives clinical supervision from an approved clinical supervisor registered with the DBHDS.
- Provides care coordination to ensure the patient and family receive and are subsequently referred to appropriate healthcare and community resources to optimize treatment and intervention outcomes.
- Provides a range of therapeutic interventions, psycho-educational programming, and behavioral interventions (when indicated) to assist the patient/family in achieving the goals and objectives of the individualized service plan.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Master's Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, or EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders, or a related Behavioral Health field.
- Experience: Two years of experience in mental health/substance use disorder treatment and psychoeducational programming, including targeted, evidence-based interventions (crisis intervention, trauma, and integrative therapies).
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association within 3 months of hire. Crisis Prevention Institute certification within 6 months of hire.
- Licensure: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with adolescent patients strongly preferred.
