Behavioral Health Technician- Overnight

About the role

This entry level position allows you to work in the social-services field, specifically in behavioral health, where you can help individuals dealing with addiction.

Responsibilities

  • Transport clients to and from appointments, intake pickups, discharge drop-offs, etc.
  • Be available to clients for questions and other assistance.
  • Be highly dependable and able to work independently, with the ability to work with little direction.
  • Complete and assist counselors with intake/admission procedures, orientation of new clients and co-workers.
  • Encourage clients to achieve their goals by acting as a positive role model.
  • Participate in client recreational activities.
  • Serve as a resource for clients through knowledge of services and opportunities in the community.
  • Administer client medications and documents accordingly.
  • Support staff and director in making decisions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Free of chemical use problems for at least one year immediately preceding hire date and sign a statement attesting to that fact.
  • Must be eighteen years old.
  • Must have a valid MN driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Physical ability to perform the responsibilities of the position, including bending, stooping, sitting, walking, and lifting at least 30 pounds.
  • Have, or be willing to obtain once employed, CPR and First Aid trainings.
