Assists and supports patients through the entire treatment experience from admission through discharge, contributing insightful, practical, and meaningful information to the treatment planning process.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to all DBH policies and procedures.
- Conducts self in a manner that represents DBH values, maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.
- Provides exemplary customer service to all patients, exhibiting understanding and respect for cultural and lifestyle diversity.
- Maintains professional boundaries and ethics, including confidentiality of patient and facility information.
- Facilitates patient daily needs per the program schedule (waking/bedtime routines, hygiene, meals/snacks, bathroom safety observations, free time).
- Assists Nursing staff with duties such as patient supervision, vitals, room searches, and patient searches.
- Recognizes, responds to, and assists in crisis situations, providing appropriate interventions.
- Consistently reports to work on time and prepared to perform duties.
- Assists in the implementation of individual patient treatment plans per clinical team.
- Supports patients during admission and discharge processes, including checking belongings and acclimating patients to the program.
- Monitors patient activity and documents significant issues, completing all required documentation by the end of shift.
- Maintains an organized and safe environment, performing basic housekeeping duties and conducting facility/grounds checks.
- Facilitates and leads daily groups as directed by facility leadership.
- Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings, completing online training and policy verification.
- Provides transportation services, including patient transportation, errands, shopping, admits, and outings (must be pre-qualified to drive a company vehicle).
- For Eating Disorder Division: Provides supervision and support during mealtimes, eating meals/snacks with patients while refraining from comments/actions contradicting the CFD Clinical Model and Dietary CARE model.
- Familiarizes and adopts the Philosophy, Mission, Goals, and Objectives of the Center for Discovery treatment programs.
- Has basic knowledge of the clinical orientation and interventions used at Center for Discovery.
- For Residential Treatment: Passes medicine where permissible (training/certification provided).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred.
- One or more years of experience working within the mental health, substance use, or eating disorder field preferred.
- Valid and unrestricted State Driver’s License.
Schedule
- Part-time: Monday, Wednesday 10:30am - 6:30pm
Pay
Pay Range: $21 - $28 per hour
