About the role
As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will provide one-to-one services to children and adolescents between the ages of 2-24, who are confronted with serious, identified, emotional and/or behavioral disturbances. With the support and guidance of the Behavioral Consultant, you will aid in improving independent, age-appropriate functioning to levels which require less or no service intervention. You will travel to the clients' home/school/service location daily, being sure to follow the prescribed treatment plan and provide behavioral and treatment interventions and consequences to the client. Setting boundaries with clients and their families to prevent dependency upon your services as you also provide support to parents and adult professionals. Educating and training parents/young adults to utilize these skills, providing positive reinforcement, and providing culturally aware and competent service provision.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one services to children and adolescents with emotional and/or behavioral disturbances.
- Aid in improving independent, age-appropriate functioning to levels requiring less or no service intervention.
- Travel to clients' home/school/service location daily, following the prescribed treatment plan.
- Provide behavioral and treatment interventions and consequences to the client.
- Set boundaries with clients and their families to prevent dependency upon your services.
- Support parents and adult professionals by providing necessary guidance.
- Educate and train parents/young adults to utilize the provided skills, offering positive reinforcement.
- Provide culturally aware and competent service provision.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid PA Driver’s License and car insurance.
- Ability to obtain Act 33, Act 34, and FBI Clearances.
- CPR/First Aid training (must include infant/child) or ability to obtain.
- Working 4-6PM is a must.
Qualifications
- Competitive pay of $17.25/hr, with other pay rates applying for training, travel, and administrative time.
