Behavioral Health Technician / Human Services Technician

Location: Willmar

Full-time, unlimited (permanent) position. Night shift: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Schedule varies and includes every other weekend and holidays. Less than 5% travel required for off-site meetings and client transport.

About the role

Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) operates a specialized behavioral-health system serving children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6–18) with serious emotional and behavioral conditions in an inpatient psychiatric setting. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will deliver direct care and support the integrated treatment team.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient admission and discharge functions.
• Complete demographic and technical admission procedures to ensure optimal health and comfort.
• Provide physical and mental-health care within the position’s scope to achieve and maintain optimal outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, hazard-free environment of care; respond to emergencies per policy.
• Participate in the development and implementation of individual behavioral treatment plans as a member of the integrated treatment team.
• Perform delegated treatments and procedures within policy guidelines.
• Complete housekeeping tasks to sustain a healthful, aesthetic environment.
• Collect, organize, and assist with monitoring and evaluation data to continuously improve patient-care services.
• Engage in in-service training and quality-improvement activities.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write English sufficient to follow directions and maintain records/documentation.
• Human-relations skills to establish rapport with and provide direction to service recipients.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Patient-care experience in a mental-health or behavioral-health setting.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a treatment setting.

Pay

$21.59 – $28.94 per hour; $45,079 – $60,426 annually.
