Behavioral Health Technician - Full Time/Part-Time/ PRN!

Principal Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and supervision to individuals with mental health disorders in a compassionate and therapeutic manner.
  • Implement and monitor treatment plans as outlined by the clinical team, ensuring individualized needs are met.
  • Employ de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies to manage challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to assess and address behavioral concerns, promoting a therapeutic and supportive environment.
  • Administer prescribed medications as per established protocols, ensuring accuracy and adherence to medication schedules.
  • Monitor and document individual's responses to medication, promptly reporting any side effects or concerns to the nursing and medical staff.
  • Auxiliary in facilitating therapeutic group activities, counseling sessions, and skill-building exercises to promote social and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals to implement evidence-based interventions and treatment modalities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual's interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Report significant changes in resident's behavior, mental health status, or any incidents promptly to the supervisory team.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other team members as well as external providers to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance professional development.
  • Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure environment.
  • Conduct regular checks of the facility to identify and address any potential safety hazards.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies and crises, following established protocols and ensuring the safety of individualized and staff.

Full Time Available Schedules

  • Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (Rotating Schedule: This is 1 position)
  • Week 1 & 3: Mon/Tues/Wed 3pm-11pm & Saturday 7am-11pm
  • Week 2 & 4: Sunday 7am-11pm & Wed/Thurs/Fri 3pm-11pm
  • Week 1 & 3: Sunday 7am-11pm & Wed/Thurs/Fri 3pm-11pm
  • Week 2 & 4: Mon/Tues/Wed 3pm-11pm & Saturday 7am-11pm
  • Monday - Thursday 11pm-9am (Overnight)

Part Time Available Shifts

  • Week 1 & 3: Mon/Tues 4pm-11pm & Saturday 7a-11p
  • Week 2 & 4: Sunday 7am-11pm & Thurs/Fri 4pm-11pm
  • Week 1 & 3: Sunday 7am-11pm & Thurs/Fri 4pm-11pm
  • Week 2 & 4: Mon/Tues 4pm-11pm & Saturday 7am-11pm
  • Friday - Sunday 11pm-9am (Overnight)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant education or certification in psychiatric technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in mental health, forensic, or similar settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of psychiatric medications, therapeutic techniques, and behavioral management strategies.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Physical Demands: Requires light and/or heaving lifting, repetitive bending, sight, hearing, and ability to move with ease.

We are excited to announce a new Forensic Mental Health program is opening in our Richmond location! We are hiring Full Time, Part Time, and PRN Behavioral Health Technicians!

Qualifications
