Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) / CDCA, 3rd shift

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician serves as a key member of the treatment team, ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and engagement of clients throughout their treatment experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain positive, professional relationships with clients.
• Affiliate with admissions, orientations, and intake procedures.
• Assist with client transportation as needed.
• Support clients experiencing emotional distress and assist with de-escalation efforts.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety throughout the facility.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
• Protect client confidentiality and maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable regulations.
• Exercise sound judgment and seek supervisory support when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass required background screenings and drug testing.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Current CDCA (Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant) certification in the State of Ohio.
• One (1) year of experience in behavioral health, substance use treatment, mental health services, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant college coursework in psychology, social work, counseling, criminal justice, or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience working with individuals in recovery or behavioral health settings preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Ability to respond appropriately during emergency situations.
• Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout overnight shifts.
