3rd Shift Behavioral Health Technician

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides direct patient care and supervision to individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use disorders. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment while supporting clinical staff and treatment plans during weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain patient safety at all times
• Conduct routine safety checks and maintain observation logs
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Support therapeutic programming, group activities, and structured schedules
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage crisis situations
• Enforce program rules, boundaries, and behavioral expectations
• Communicate patient concerns, behaviors, and incidents to nursing and clinical staff
• Complete accurate and timely documentation, including shift notes and incident reports
• Absorb and move patients within the facility
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
• CPI or crisis intervention training preferred
