Responsibilities
- Affords assistance to patients with ADL’s according to hospital procedures, reporting all abnormal findings and changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse in charge.
- Completes 15-minute checks to ensure patient safety and unit safety.
- Assists with the check-in process, including obtaining initial vital signs and completing admission paperwork.
- Assists with room restocking and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
- Follows established infection control policies and recognizes the role in providing patient safety.
- Documents vital signs, weights, activity, intake and outputs, and ADL care given to the patient in the computer.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old if meeting #5 below under license/certification.
- Successfully completed and documented one of the following: Graduation from an accredited nursing program and awaiting NCLEX re-examination, Certified Nursing Assistant listed as either Active or Inactive on any state health care worker registry, EMT-B licensure, Medical Assistant, enrollment in Trinity’s PCT on-the-job training program and successful completion, successful completion of first semester of nursing school that includes Nursing Fundamentals, and Current CPR certification.
- Writes, reads, comprehends, and speaks fluent English.
- Displays multicultural sensitivity.
- Has basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Is customer/patient-focused.
- Uses critical thinking skills using independent judgment in making decisions.
