About the Role

As a Behavioral Health Technician at St. Mark's Hospital, you will join a team dedicated to creating positive patient interactions and caring for the multi-faceted wellness of those we serve. You will function as a member of the treatment team, assisting with patient observation, behavior modification programs, and ensuring patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient observation rounds, suicide risk observation, and assist with behavior modification programs.
  • Provide protection and control to ensure patient safety, including maintaining awareness of patient whereabouts and escorting patients to activities.
  • Participate in restraining combative patients as needed.
  • Take and accurately record vital signs, reporting variations from normal to the RN.
  • Participate in rounding and proactively respond to patient needs to improve outcomes and overall patient experience.
  • Assist in maintaining client charts, including clinical assessment processes (CAP) and behavior-based progress notes.

Requirements

  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification.
  • Certification in Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) within 30 days of hire.
  • C.N.A. (Certified Nursing Assistant) certification preferred but not required.
  • At least one year of experience as a Mental Health Technician or C.N.A. in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
