About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Behavioral Health Technician to join our patient-centered care team. In this role, you will support our Behavioral Health Providers by assisting with patient educations, patient assessments, and guidance, helping individuals on their journey towards wellness.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the implementation of health care programs including coordination and information collection.
- Collect detailed data and enter it into the project database.
- Complete mental health and developmental screenings and enter results into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Understand and conduct substance use screenings, brief interventions, and referrals to treatment.
- Provide administrative support to programs such as entering screenings into the EHR and other duties as assigned.
- Communicate professionally, appropriately, and clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Report accurately and in a timely manner, meeting designated deadlines.
- Participate in training and regular meetings with the team.
- Demonstrate awareness of social determinants of health and local resources.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to privacy and security standards.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate, required.
- Successful completion of in-house training.
- Ability to effectively manage projects.
- Good problem-solving and analysis capabilities.
- Detail-oriented and possesses organizational skills and accuracy.
- Prioritize tasks and maintain a sense of urgency.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Relate to diverse populations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Recognize legal obligations to confidentiality of health care and program records.
