About the role
Reprieve offers a phased, holistic recovery program focused on rebuilding connections to self, spirituality, and community. Through personalized care, therapeutic support, and family involvement, residents gain the tools needed for sustainable sobriety and a purposeful life. We are seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to add to our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
- Aid in luggage and body searches
- Monitor and sometimes facilitate the Book Studies and Recovery meetings
- Be aware of patient locations, circulate around the facility, and document hourly checks
- Safeguard the Bradford Program Schedule and ensure patients are on time for assignments
- Supervise and facilitate patient activities as directed
- Absorb patients into their rooms at designated times in the evening
- Guard the med line to prevent diversion and de-escalate situations
- Assist patients during activities, medication times, and meals
- Support counselors as assigned and document shift reports
- Attend staff training and programs as directed
- Assist nurses as directed by supervisor
- Drive patients to and from appointments, including outings, as directed
- Drive to purchase patient sundries and miscellaneous items, including nicotine products as directed
Qualifications
- Communicate effectively and demonstrate a basic understanding of chemical dependency recovery
- Maintain records and have good communication skills
- Have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Be able to walk within the facility and on the grounds for approximately one mile per eight-hour shift
- Be able to sit continuously for approximately three hours per eight-hour shift
- Be able to administer CPR and be certified
- Be able to see and hear constantly
- Be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations
- Be able to work in a constant state of alertness to perform the job safely
- Be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-workers, managers, clients, and prospective clients
- Regular attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science, CRC, or CRSS preferred
- One year experience in alcohol/drug treatment with direct patient contact preferred
