Position Summary
Essential Job Functions
- Adheres to all DBH policies and procedures.
- Counsels and supports patients throughout the treatment experience.
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude.
- Provides exemplary customer service to all patients.
- Exhibits understanding and respect for cultural and lifestyle diversity.
- Understands and maintains professional boundaries and ethics.
- Follows directions given by facility leadership.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information and records.
- Facilitates patient daily needs, including routines, hygiene, meals, bathroom safety, and free time.
- Assists nursing staff with duties such as patient supervision, vitals, room searches, and patient searches.
- Recognizes, responds to, and assists in crisis situations, providing interventions as necessary.
- Reports to work on time and prepared to perform duties.
- Aids in implementing individual patient treatment plans.
- Supports patients during admission and discharge processes, including checking in belongings, acclimating patients, and preparing for returning home.
- Maintains accurate and timely documentation of shift notes, group notes, and other required records.
- Maintains an organized and safe environment and performs basic housekeeping duties.
- Conducts regular facility and grounds checks, reporting any irregularities or safety concerns to leadership.
- Works scheduled shifts and covers shifts as needed, unless experiencing an emergency.
- Attends staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Completes all online training, policy verification, and keeps employee HR file updated.
- Observes infection control policies and participates in proper hand hygiene.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Valid and unrestricted State Driver’s License
- CPI certification within 90 days of hire
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications
- Knowledge of substance use division procedures (if applicable)
- Ability to pass medicine if required (if applicable)
- Transportation services (if applicable)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum 1 year sobriety if in recovery (if applicable)
