Responsibilities

• Collects data and collaborates with the RNs in the assessment processes of patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises
• Facilitates the implementation of nursing care plans promoting emotional well-being as delegated
• Monitors safety of patients and the environment of care
• Fosters a safe and nurturing environment that encourages and reinforces constructive interactions amongst patients
• Educates patients on interpersonal and self-care skills
• Assists patients with activities of daily living
• Conducts age-appropriate psycho-educational groups
• Recognizes critical and obvious changes in patient conditions and reacts promptly
• Communicates patient care observations and safety concerns to members of the multidisciplinary team
