About the role
The Behavioral Health Respite Program Coordinator is responsible for implementing short term and temporary respite services to youth and families enrolled in OhioRise. The Coordinator provides leadership, coordination across the Respite Program as well as clinical and administrative supervision to all applicable staff.
Responsibilities
- Organize and oversee scheduled and emergency respite activities provided by hourly staff under direction of Program Coordinator.
- Identify and plan engaging activities for youth of various ages.
- Provide administrative supervision and leadership to program staff, including hiring and performance management.
- Congduct data collection and case documentation.
- Conduct ongoing youth/family support and progress tracking.
- Represent the agency in the development or maintenance of relationships with other organizations including community agencies, public agencies and referral sources.
- Liaise and coordinate with local Care Management Entities related to youth served; attend care meetings as necessary.
- Possess and employ practical understanding of:
- basic child, adolescent and family development
- issues that are relevant to youth with SED
- interventions used in crisis de-escalation
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
- Must be able to be reached during any events where the Respite Program Coordinator is not present.
- Must be able to transport youth frequently to and from scheduled activities.
- Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training that will provide the skills necessary to implement the program.
- All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
- Call on-call supervisor in case of an emergency situation (i.e. in need of clinical support, AWOL, safety concern for yourself or the well being of a client or family member, a client threatening to harm themselves or others.)
Requirements
- Salary range is $55,000-$56,000 per year depending on relevant education, experience, and licensure.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field required.
- Valid Ohio LSW, LPC preferred or minimally two year’s professional experience with youth and families.

- Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
- Practical and/or clinical understanding of the underlying issues that lead to a need for respite services.

Schedule
Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, are necessary to meet program obligations. Travel throughout Cuyahoga County and transportation of youth to and from activities is also required.
Pay
