Responsibilities

  • Affords psychological assessments and provides appropriate interventions and treatments.
  • Collaborates with medical team and ancillary services to provide psychological therapy for patients.
  • Refers patients to other disciplines for consult and evaluations as indicated.
  • Provides psychological expertise and education to multidisciplinary team.
  • Acts as resource to other disciplines.
  • Communicates complex/sensitive information to patients and medical team.
  • Administers and interprets psychological tests used for diagnosing mental and personality disorders and differentiating between organic and functional cases of behavior disorders.
  • Provides leadership support for diabetes management and health psychological management initiatives throughout the behavioral health department and organization.
  • Supports ongoing continuing education and training initiatives within the organization.

Qualifications

  • Experience facilitating psychological testing, application of scientific methods to understand emotional and behavioral functioning, through administration, scoring and interpretation of tests.
  • Experience with written reports to support psychological testing.
  • Experience working in an integrated primary care setting.
  • Graduation from a Clinical or Counseling Psychology program that is accredited by the American Psychological Association or is documented to be working toward accreditation.
  • FQHC experience preferred.
  • Licensed as a Psychologist or license-eligible upon passage of the EPPP and/or completion of a post-doctoral residency.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable of and adheres to all policies, professional practice standards, philosophies and requirements for professional clinical practice.
  • Acts as consultant for integrated healthcare and works with key staff in areas of quality improvements, education, training, and efficiency targets and outcomes.
