Psychologist - Behavioral Health

Job Summary

Department of Behavioral Health at Essen has immediate opening for part-time and full-time Clinical Psychologist.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in outpatient as well as Nursing home facilities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team at Essen.
• Offer compassionate, patient-centered, evidence-based psychiatric care.
• Assessment of patients referred by Primary Care Provider (PCP) using evidenced-based assessment tools.
• Treatment of behavioral health conditions using evidenced-based approaches (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, crisis intervention, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and behavioral activation).
• Make treatment recommendations.
• Refers the patient to Psychiatrist as deemed appropriate.
• Monitor client treatment through review of clinical documentation as well as coordination of care with other health providers and health homes.
• Provide crisis intervention services and risk assessment of patients as needed.
• Engage clients with limited utilization of behavioral health service through outreach efforts.
• Document services in a timely fashion.

Job Requirements

• Doctoral Degree in clinical or counseling psychology (Ph.D./PsyD)
• Current NYS registration as a Psychologist
• Bilingual (Spanish / English) is a plus but not a requirement
