About the role

We are looking to add top talent to our Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas team. Join us in performing Sacred Work!

Responsibilities

  • Provides designated patient care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in accordance with physicians' orders and in conformance with approved patient care standards;
  • Records graphics, intake and output, and ADL's in the computer and flow sheet accurately;
  • Obtains instruction and supervision as necessary when implementing nursing procedures or practices;
  • Performs patient care activities within limits of position—does NOT administer any medication or therapy; does NOT assume independent responsibility for any patient;
  • Performs phlebotomy, 12 lead EKGs, FSBS testing, POC testing after obtaining certification and completing necessary training;
  • Communicates and interacts effectively with patients and their families based on sensitivity to the psychosocial needs of patient and reports objective relevant observations to the licensed nurse to assist in care-planning;
  • Knows the usual and stable baseline conditions (both physical and mental) of the specific patient population in which they are employed and institutes appropriate nursing interventions that might be required to stabilize a patient's condition and/or prevent complications;
  • Utilizes equipment in the provision of patient care services, adapting equipment usage to the age and general condition of the patient, as indicated;
  • Aids in the cleaning, sanitation and tracking of all equipment and supplies used in the unit and adheres to all guidelines regarding use of cleaning products.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-6 months of related experience
