Role Overview
Under supervision, the Outpatient Behavioral Health professional conducts assessments, provides intervention, and coordinates treatment for individuals and groups with behavioral health needs. They perform crisis evaluations, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapy to clients, collaborating with community and emergency services as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
- Successful completion of 1,000 hours of practicum/internship or one year of clinical experience under supervision
- Ability to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans, demonstrating critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of ethical standards, rules, and regulations in behavioral healthcare
- Ability to recognize signs of suicidal behavior and respond appropriately
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic assessments and determine immediate treatment needs
- Create and implement individualized treatment plans with clients
- Provide behavioral health therapy to individuals, families, and groups
- Coordinate with crisis teams, community agencies, and healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate records in compliance with policies and oversight agencies
- Participate in training and prepare reports as required
