In this role, you will utilize your specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments, and treatment planning to care for patients ranging from age 5 through late adulthood. You will provide therapy sessions on an individual, group, or family basis, supporting patients across the mental health spectrum, from anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments, and treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, group, family, and crisis counseling.
  • Address a clinical focus across the mental health spectrum, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of assessments based on interdisciplinary treatment plans.
  • Consult with team members, statutory/voluntary agencies, and relatives to ensure compliance with patient treatment plans.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, community support workers, and facilities to obtain information and facilitate discharge planning.
  • Educate and provide resources to patients and families.
  • Supervise and/or train lower-level social workers, students, or interns.
  • Process paperwork and complete clinical documentation.
  • Participate in continuing professional education, departmental meetings, and teaching.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with no record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in a behavioral health setting with comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories, and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose, and counsel patients.
  • Ability to concisely document clinical findings and patient needs in an electronic medical record while navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment.
  • Strong communication skills across different electronic platforms and a broad geographic provider base.

Physical Requirements

  • A high degree of manual dexterity to produce materials on a PC.
  • Normal or corrected vision.
  • Extensive sitting and frequent walking.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Schedule

Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with no holidays or weekends.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum Annual Salary: $57,510.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $87,697.50

The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
