SUMMARY OF POSITION
As a school-based behavioral health liaison, you will provide face-to-face consultation with classroom teachers to create positive, trauma-informed classroom environments, enhance the learning environment, and assist in developing effective behavior responses.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide face-to-face consultation with classroom teachers to create a positive, trauma-informed classroom.
- Provide at least one face-to-face training per year to LEA personnel on mental health and substance abuse prevention topics.
- Aid in the development of school-wide mental health initiatives and universal prevention strategies.
- Offer liaison services to include communication between the school and the child's family, supporting the IEP process, and developing trauma-informed support plans.
- Maintain logs and other management tools to track services provided.
- Support students through individual, group, and family therapy services, formulate diagnoses, create and update treatment plans, and maintain accurate documentation.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in trauma-informed practices.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with school staff, students, and families.
Qualifications
- Education: A Master’s degree is required in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a specialization in MH Counseling. License-eligible in respective discipline preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing treatment to individuals with mental health disorders, and substance use disorders experience preferred. Internship experience may be applied toward the minimum experience requirement for recent graduates.
Starting Salary Range
$42,300 - $46,700
