Behavioral Health Liaison School-Based (Winchester)

SUMMARY OF POSITION

As a school-based behavioral health liaison, you will provide face-to-face consultation with classroom teachers to create positive, trauma-informed classroom environments, enhance the learning environment, and assist in developing effective behavior responses for students at risk of emotional/behavioral problems or substance use disorders. You will also provide psycho-educational groups and support services to youth and liaise between families and schools.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face consultation with classroom teachers to create a positive, trauma-informed classroom environment.
  • Train and educate teachers on mental health and trauma-informed behavior responses.
  • Develop school-wide mental health initiatives and universal prevention strategies.
  • Communicate between the school and the child's family, building open lines of communication and home-school partnerships.
  • Assist in the IEP process and develop trauma-informed support plans with families and schools.
  • Navigate the local behavioral health system for students and families.
  • Maintain logs and manage services provided.
  • Support students through individual, group, and family therapy services.
  • Create and update treatment plans according to policy.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and complete performance evaluations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in trauma-informed practices.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with school staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a specialization in MH Counseling is required.
  • Relevant coursework and work experience in clinical treatment, appraisal, psychopathology, and DSM use.
  • At least 24 graduate-level semester hours in psychology, social work, counseling, or behavioral health-related coursework.
  • Clinical experience required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and meet eligibility requirements for the organization's vehicle insurance policy.

Starting Salary Range

$42,300 - $46,700
