Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and proactive Behavioral Health Lead Patient Coordinator to join our Behavioral Health team.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Support the supervisor in Patient Coordinators workflow and administrative staff.
- Provide shadowing and coaching where needed.
- Assist overseeing patient intake, scheduling, and referral processes for behavioral health services.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, families, and external partners.
- Ensure timely coordination of appointments, assessments, and follow-ups.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Help develop and implement workflows to improve efficiency and patient experience.
- Aid in staff scheduling and coverage planning.
- Monitor daily operations to ensure smooth clinic flow and access to care.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements.
- Track and report key performance metrics (e.g., no-show rates, scheduling efficiency).
- Collaborate with clinical leadership to align administrative and care delivery processes.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate communication between providers, care teams, and administrative staff.
- Handle patient concerns or escalations in a professional and empathetic manner.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting such as insurance eligibility, scheduling, billing, and any background regarding behavioral health.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and team management skills preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; patient communication and empathy.
- Proficient in healthcare management software and Microsoft Suite such as Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, etc.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, patient rights, and ethical standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at times.
Pay Range
$24 USD - $27 USD
