Job Summary

Banner Behavioral Health Hospital (BBHH) Scottsdale is seeking a Behavioral Health Counselor LMSW/LCSW/LPC to provide assessments and psychotherapy services for patients with chemical dependence or mental health challenges. The ideal candidate will have 1 year of group therapy experience, particularly with adolescents.

About the Role

This position provides clinical assessment and psychotherapy services for defined patient populations. Services are provided in both inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. The role involves coordinating patient care, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessments and direct psychotherapy to individuals, families, and groups.
• Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge, interacting with physicians and other clinical staff.
• Develop and monitor treatment plans, document clinical assessments, and progress charts.
• Collaborate with patients and families to ensure they are involved in assessment, treatment, education, and discharge planning.
• Monitor patients' needs and facilitate treatment and interventions.
• Participate in the multidisciplinary treatment team and maintain effective working relationships with peers and physicians.
• May provide clinical updates to managed care representatives and conduct cognitive testing.
• Coordinate with community-based providers to ensure optimal post-discharge care and treatment outcomes.
• Manage and provide direct care of patients in behavioral health treatment programs.
• Interact with patients, families, groups, and clinical staff in assigned programs.

Requirements

• Master's degree in counseling, behavioral health, or a related human services field, or equivalent licensure.
• Behavioral Health Licensure in Arizona as mandated by state board.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) as mandated by state board.
• At least 1 year of group therapy experience, preferably with adolescents.
• Proficiency in treating patients with substance abuse, emotional and behavioral issues, eating disorders, and other mental disorders.
• Ability to work with a diverse population and interpersonal skills.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Arizona Criminal History Affidavit.

Qualifications

• Independently licensed in Arizona to bill out appropriate CPT codes for independently licensed clinicians.
• Ability to provide education and orientation for patients, families, and others to assigned treatment programs.
• Experience in managing and providing direct care of patients in behavioral health treatment programs.
• Knowledge of community-based providers and their roles in post-discharge care.

Pay and Schedule

The position is a part-time afternoon/evening position, approximately 24 hours per week, specifically on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1 PM to 9 PM. Holiday rotation is required.
