The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.

About the role

The Behavioral Health Clinician provides comprehensive mental health and substance use treatment services to individuals in supportive housing or residential settings. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering individual and group therapy, and offering clinical interventions to promote stability, recovery, and independent living. The clinician collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to address the complex needs of individuals experiencing behavioral health challenges, trauma, and housing instability, utilizing evidence-based practices to support overall well-being and prevent a return to homelessness.

Location: 2100 Broadway, Denver, CO. Position requires frequent travel within the East region of the Denver-metro area.

Valid driver’s license required. This requirement may be waived based on candidate experience and business needs.

Note: The selected candidate will complete an internal credentialing and privileging process prior to the start date. The timeline depends on document submission, and the start date will be scheduled once this process is complete.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify behavioral health needs, including mental health and substance use issues.
• Use evidence-based tools for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Deliver evidence-based individual and group therapy tailored to client needs, focusing on mental health and substance use recovery.
• Create, monitor, and update individualized treatment plans with client-centered goals and measurable outcomes.
• Provide support and intervention during crises, stabilizing clients and connecting them with additional resources as needed.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate and timely client records, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.
• Help clients access community resources (housing, employment, education) that support their wellness and recovery goals.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay updated on best practices in behavioral health through professional development sessions.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all clinical services, communications, and tasks in the EHR and other systems while maintaining complete, up-to-date charts.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
• Current provisional license as an LSW, LMFTC, or LPCC.
• Minimum of one year of experience working in health care or human services field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with individuals who have experienced homelessness, trauma, and/or chronic health conditions.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills are highly desirable.
• Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) certification is preferred.

Pay

$29.77 - $34.23 an hour. Placement in the compensation range depends on total relevant years of experience.
