Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor, LCSW (Bilingual)

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is a multi-clinic network providing integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty, and referral services as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). About the role

The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor (BHC Supervisor) serves in a clinical leadership and training capacity, co-leading clinical supervision and implementation of Marin Community Clinic’s (MCC) ASW training program in Integrated Behavioral Health. This position provides clinical supervision to junior staff, including ASWs working toward licensure, and helps lead MCC’s ASW training fellowship for bilingual/bicultural clinicians. The LCSW Clinical Supervisor co-teaches weekly didactic seminars on integrated behavioral health topics and provides assessment and treatment services to patients across the lifespan. As a behavioral health expert, this role offers consultation, training, and support to the healthcare team and collaborates with medical providers, nurses, and other staff.

Potential to receive up to a $20,000 signing bonus, with specific program terms and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Support MCC’s mission, vision, and values by developing and communicating a vision for whole-person care to patients, families, and colleagues.
• Model evidence-based communication, empathy, and compassion, especially for patients with historically stigmatized conditions (e.g., chronic pain, addiction, severe mental health conditions, homelessness).
• Foster a supportive, encouraging work environment for colleagues while promoting autonomy, self-efficacy, and cultural humility.
• Provide evidence-based treatment to patients (adults and children) with mild to moderate behavioral health needs, including assessment, diagnosis, short-term therapy, crisis intervention, safety planning, coaching, referrals, and case management via in-person and telehealth modalities.
• Provide clinical and administrative supervision to junior LCSWs, psychologists, and/or unlicensed ASWs in accordance with BBS standards.
• Develop and lead or co-lead psychoeducational/therapeutic groups.
• Engage patients and families in their healthcare using motivational strategies to improve outcomes.
• Implement flexible scheduling practices, including scheduled appointments, unscheduled “warm hand-offs,” and “check-ins” (in-person or via telehealth).
• Share expertise with colleagues through informal and formal learning activities.
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary workflows and clinical pathways to maximize team-based care.

Supervisor Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate staffing levels and participate in recruitment.
• Onboard, train, and support staff development.
• Manage employee performance, communicate expectations, and provide timely feedback and evaluations.
• Complete time and attendance requirements, including approving timesheets, time-off requests, and ensuring payroll accuracy.
• Uphold MCC’s policies and procedures to ensure a safe, legal, and compliant work environment.

Requirements

• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a valid California state license and at least 2 years of post-license experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience and passion for working with diverse ethnic, cultural, and economic populations.
• Experience in non-traditional mental health settings and with flexible scheduling practices.
• Proficiency in multiple therapeutic strategies (e.g., CBT, DBT, Seeking Safety, ACT, solution-focused therapy).
• Experience in managing difficult conversations, escalations, and complex interpersonal situations.
• Highly trained in Motivational Interviewing.
• Experience treating substance use disorders and other addictive behaviors.
• Competence as a behavioral health generalist, treating children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly with varying mental health needs.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and with shared electronic medical records (preferred).

• Fluency in English and Spanish (required); ability to perform psychotherapy assessments and interventions in Spanish.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and EPIC electronic health records (preferred).

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Hybrid work position combining remote and onsite work.
• Prolonged sitting and use of computer, mouse, and keyboard.
• Frequent movement throughout clinic sites and occasional travel among Marin, CA clinics.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.

Pay

Annual salary range: $112,000 – $142,000 USD.
