Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor

About the role

The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor oversees clinical Behavioral Health operations in the Emergency Department at Saint Francis Hospital. Responsibilities include ensuring clinical quality and compliance for crisis assessments, biopsychosocial assessments, behavioral interventions, and post-discharge care coordination. The supervisor also manages admissions to Behavioral Health inpatient units and processes referrals from outside facilities.

Responsibilities

• Manages the staffing schedule for the Behavioral Health team and employee files.
• Supervises staff, including collaboration with HR on hiring, orientation, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
• Oversees assessment and care coordination of patients requiring Behavioral Health services in the Emergency Department.
• Supervises the flow of assessments and discharges for patients undergoing behavioral assessments and interventions.
• Serves as a lead for social work staff in inpatient units.
• Available for rotating on-call schedule to support Behavioral Health staff in the Emergency Department after hours.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work required.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the State of CT required.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience providing direct client/patient care in mental health or substance abuse field; supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with crisis assessments in community and hospital settings.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
