About the role

We are hiring for a Behavioral Health Certified Peer Support Specialist/PT position at RHA Health Services. This role provides highly individualized services in the community and promotes self-determination and decision-making for individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues. The position also serves as an advocate and collaborates with the team to foster a culture of respect and integration of individual perspectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provides support and assistance to individuals in regaining control over their recovery processes.
  • Works as a role model for recovery and coping skills.
  • Affirms and integrates the views and preferences of individuals into treatment and community activities.
  • Serves as an advocate for individuals supported.
  • Assists in identifying and achieving personal goals for individuals.
  • Participates in community activities and helps individuals live more independently.

Requirements

  • Must meet the requirements of Certified Peer Support Specialist.
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 15 lbs, pulling up to 10 lbs, squatting, kneeling, crawling, crouching, climbing, and stooping.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a Certified Peer Support Specialist program.
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
