Behavioral Health Care Advocate

Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee initial inpatient and residential admissions for mental health and substance abuse disorders for members
- Review clinical information and determine appropriate levels of care
- Cook up coordination with Case Managers and/or providers to help with treatment and discharge planning
- Active on a telephonic queue, speaking with providers and members
- Adapt to different processes with regulatory changes
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Marriage or Family Counseling; OR Licensed Ph.D.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice in the state of residence
- 2+ years of experience in behavioral health
Preferred Qualifications
- Inpatient or residential experience
- Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse
- Experience working in utilization management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Outlook, Internet)
