Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk screenings.
• Determine eligibility and appropriate levels of care based on clinical presentation and individual needs.
• Collaborate with clients to identify strengths, goals, and service preferences.
• Develop recommendations and facilitate connections to mental health, substance use, crisis, and community-based services.
• Partner with psychiatrists, nurses, case managers, and other providers to coordinate care.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
• Provide support and education to individuals and families throughout the admission and engagement process.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and quality improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and professional standards.
• Offer after hours crisis and daytime consultation and support for QMHP staff.
• Serve on the Critical Incident & Stress Management (CISM) team to offer support services to disaster victims when needed.

This position is directly supervised by the Mental Health Program Administrator for Admissions.

Qualifications

Required

• Current Texas licensure as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered care.
• Must be eligible to be certified as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
• Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and be an insurable driver. Driving is an essential function and employees must maintain an acceptable driving record/insurability while employed.

Preferred

• Experience in community mental health, crisis services, outpatient treatment, or integrated behavioral health.
• Knowledge of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Experience utilizing electronic health records and clinical documentation systems.
• Training in trauma-informed care, suicide prevention, crisis intervention, or evidence-based practices.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with standard work hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Will consider virtual/hybrid schedule.
