About the role
Axis is seeking part-time behavior therapists to work with skilled Clinical Supervisors (BCBA) in various settings including clinic, home, school, and community. The role involves implementing evidence-based treatment plans to decrease maladaptive behaviors, teach adaptive skills, communication skills, self-care skills, and social skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct client care in one-on-one and group settings in clinic and home settings.
- Follow behavior reduction and behavioral skill acquisition protocols.
- Implement treatment plans under BCBA supervision.
- Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
- Enter session notes into medical records in accordance with established procedures.
- Communicate with caregivers and/or school personnel regarding client progress.
- Absorb and prepare client materials, behavior reduction assessments, and skills acquisition.
- Engage with supervisor and management to provide feedback and request support.
- Use different technologies and software programs, as well as data collection applications.
- Adhere to HIPAA policies.
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (Preferred).
- At least one (1) year of related professional experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities.
- Prior experience as a direct support professional is a plus.
- Passionate about helping individuals with developmental disabilities to reach their best potential.
- Positive and energetic attitude, patience, and desire to grow in the field of ABA.
- Reliable with a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge and/or experience in the field of early intervention (preferred but not required).
- Solid interpersonal skills required to work as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to be flexible and respond to varying situations, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to serve culturally and linguistically diverse families in low and high socioeconomic status areas.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to frequently bend, lift (up to 30 lbs), squat, sit, stand, and/or run (with or without reasonable accommodations).
- RBT certification (preferred but not required).
- Bilingual (preferred but not required).
