Behavior Technician

About the role

As a Behavior Technician, you’ll work one-on-one with children with autism, using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and play to build communication, confidence, and independence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on ABA principles
• Monitor and document client progress
• Collaborate with a supportive team to provide consistent care
• Adapt therapy sessions to meet the changing needs of each child
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress and strategies

Requirements

• At least 18 years old on your first day of employment
• Ability to pass a background check
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and patience
• Experience working with children preferred but not required
• Passionate about helping individuals with autism and special needs
• Willingness to undergo paid training in ABA therapy

Skills

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles
• Strong observational and assessment skills
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office)

Physical Requirements

• Push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds
• Move quickly in response to client needs
• Frequent changes in physical positions throughout the day (walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching, crawling, running)
• Maintain continuous visual and auditory awareness of clients to support a safe environment
