About the role

Join our dynamic team at Step Forward ABA, where we're passionate about empowering individuals with Autism to reach their full potential. As a Registered Behavior Technician, you'll play a vital role in helping children develop essential skills, build confidence, and thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with children using evidence-based ABA techniques to promote independence, social skills, and personal growth through fun and interactive activities tailored to each child's unique needs.
  • Teach skills to enhance communication and functioning.
  • Implement and facilitate behavior plans, monitor outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Restructure environments to support positive outcomes and reduce problematic behaviors.
  • Collect data and maintain accurate records.
  • Communicate with behavior analysts, families, and peers to coordinate activities and advocate for individual needs.
  • Complete daily progress notes and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A passing National Criminal Background check.
  • RBT Certification (preferred).
  • Completion of RBT certification process within 30 days of employment.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to physically engage with children in a fast-paced environment, lifting up to 30lbs and maintaining a safe and tidy workspace.
  • Spanish-speaking skills are a plus but not required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work in-home settings.
  • Childcare (nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, tutor, etc.) (Preferred).
  • Mental health advocates and professionals (QMHP, behavioral health technicians) (Preferred).
  • Camp counselors, volunteers, youth faith group leaders or youth coaching (Preferred).
  • Degrees in special education, teaching, psychology, sociology, or related fields (Preferred).
  • Experience as direct support, paraprofessionals, or life skills assistants (Preferred).

Pay

Pay ranges based on experience and education: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour.
