Behavior Technician

About the role
As a Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will work one-on-one with young children (ages 2-6) to help them meet and exceed their individualized goals. The role is center-based with a schedule of Mon-Fri, 9a-5p (40 hours/week), and may include home therapy opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one therapy to clients and lead or assist in peer play and social groups.
- Help children acquire new skills and work toward individualized goals for communication, social interaction, problem-solving, and adaptive living.
- Use proper teaching, behavior change, mand training procedures, and data collection.
- Collaborate with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and provide feedback on child progress.
- Teach appropriate social behaviors and ensure children’s safety during indoor and outdoor activities.
- Assist with diaper changes, pull-ups, and potty training as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is preferred but not required—training and support provided to obtain it within the first 60 days.
- Experience with ABA therapy is a plus but not required—full training provided.
- Ability to improvise and play with young children in various settings.
- Prior ABA experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
Pay
Behavior Technicians start at a probationary rate of $16.00 to $17.00 per hour until RBT credentialing is obtained (within the first 60 days). After credentialing, the pay rate increases to $19.00 to $20.00 per hour.
