Behavior Technician

About the Role

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides high-quality, evidence-based behavioral intervention services to children with autism under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Implement ABA treatment plans as directed by a BCBA.
• Deliver 1:1 therapy in various settings such as home, clinic, or community.
• Use teaching methods like DTT, NET, task analysis, and prompting.
• Accurately collect data on skills and behaviors.
• Follow behavior intervention plans with fidelity, including reinforcement and crisis procedures.
• Support communication development using AAC, PECS, or vocal methods.
• Promote skill generalization across environments.
• Maintain a safe, engaging environment and participate in ongoing training.
• Communicate professionally with team members and caregivers, respecting confidentiality.
• Adhere to ethical guidelines per BACB standards.

Requirements

• Active RBT certification or willingness to train and pass the exam.
• High school diploma required.
• Experience with children or developmental disabilities valued.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, accept feedback, and implement plans.
• Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to engage in play activities, sit on the floor, lift up to 25 lbs, and move quickly if needed.

Work Environment

Sessions occur in diverse settings, with close supervision and regular team participation. The role is essential in helping autistic children develop lifelong skills and supporting their families through compassionate, data-driven care.
