Behavior Technician

About the role

As a Behavior Technician you will work one‑on‑one with children with autism, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will use evidence‑based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors. The position involves physical activity such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting or carrying children or objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under BCBA supervision.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills using evidence‑based techniques.
• Reduce interfering behaviors and promote positive skill development.
• Work closely with a team to ensure consistent, compassionate care.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting, grasping, reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Participate in comprehensive training and ongoing professional development.

Requirements

• Passion for helping children with autism.
• Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team environment.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid certification and a Tuberculosis test (if not completed within the last year).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check.
• Physical ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.) and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Obtain a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification after completing onboarding.

Pay

Pay range: $18 – $25 per hour.
