Behavior Technician

About the role

As a Behavior Technician you will work one‑on‑one with children with autism, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will use evidence‑based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors. The position involves extensive physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting or carrying children or objects up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under BCBA supervision.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills using evidence‑based techniques.
• Reduce interfering behaviors through targeted interventions.
• Work one‑on‑one with each child, adapting approaches to each child’s needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sessions and progress.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and effective support.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Passion for helping children with autism.
• Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team environment.
• 18 + years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain CPR, First Aid certification and a Tuberculosis test (if not completed within the last year).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment background check.
• Physical ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.) and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.

Additional qualifications (not required)

• Experience as a Behavioral Technician.
• Experience working with children with autism or other learning disabilities.
• Experience as a teacher’s aide, tutor, CNA, caregiver, or home health aide.

Pay

Pay range: $18.00 – $25.00 per hour.
