About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Behavior Technicians. As a Behavior Technician, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with autism. In this role, you will work one-on-one with children, implementing individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). You will use evidence-based techniques to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing interfering behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with children with autism
  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a BCBA
  • Teach communication, social, and daily living skills using evidence-based techniques
  • Reduce interfering behaviors in children with autism
  • Provide support and encouragement to children and their families
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other professionals
  • Document progress and communicate with parents and BCBA regularly

Requirements

  • Passionate about helping children with autism
  • Patient, compassionate, and able to work well in a team
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to obtain a CPR, First Aid Certification, and TB test (if not done within the last year)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to move in various positions (sit, squat, bend, etc.)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

  • No prior experience required
  • Experience working as a: Behavioral Technician, Working in some capacity with children with autism or other learning disabilities, Teacher’s Aid, Tutor, CNA, Caregiver or Home Health Aide is a plus

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations
  • Knowledge of evidence-based behavioral interventions
  • Ability to adapt to different teaching methods and environments

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18 - $24 per hour.

Schedule

Hours may vary based on client needs, but typically range from 8 hours per day to 40 hours per week.
