Behavior Technician
About the role
Benchmark Human Services is seeking dedicated and experienced leaders to join our Helena office as Behavior Technicians in our High Behavior Group Homes. The role involves helping people feel safe by building healthy relationships, being engaged at all times with persons served, and modeling appropriate behavior.
Responsibilities
- Engage individuals in age-appropriate recreational and therapeutic activities.
- Protect and honor the rights of people with disabilities.
- Participate in incident debriefing to determine factors leading to behavior and develop appropriate staff interactions.
- Provide positive behavioral supports according to individual Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and provide positive reinforcement when individuals engage in socially appropriate behavior.
- Create a supportive and clean home environment.
- Support skill acquisition and enhancement as outlined in individual service plans (ISPs).
- Participate in the development and positive implementation of ISPs.
- Implement Behavior Support Plans, Replacement Behavior Trials and reinforce plans consistently, continuously and as written across all environments.
- Assist the individuals in planning and participating in community activities on a regular basis.
- Provide transportation to clients for daily activities utilizing personal vehicle as directed.
- Model appropriate behavior and interactions with individuals.
- Assist with daily living tasks and ensure cleanliness and organization.
- Administer medications and follow healthcare protocols under nurse supervision.
- Document client progress and goals.
- Safely transport individuals as needed.
- Collaborate with co-workers to enhance growth.
- Participate in ongoing professional training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Reliable transportation required.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and high behaviors.
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds or more 1% - 33% of the time.
- Be able to stand and walk 67% - 100% of the time.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Pay
Competitive wages are offered based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The schedule includes:
- 8am-4pm Group Homes
- 4pm-midnight Group Homes
- Midnight-8am Group Homes
