Behavior Technician

About the role

Start a meaningful career supporting children with autism while earning a nationally recognized credential. At Behavioral Framework, you’ll work one-on-one with children and young adults (up to age 21) in their homes, implementing personalized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This part-time role is ideal for individuals interested in psychology, education, social work, behavioral health, or working with children. No prior ABA experience is required—we provide free training and certification.

Technicians typically work 4–5 afternoon/evening shifts per week with the same client for 4–5 hour sessions, building consistent relationships that help children make meaningful progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children in their homes by implementing individualized behavior plans created by your BCBA supervisor
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills using positive reinforcement strategies
• Collect session data and write progress notes
• Collaborate with your BCBA and caregivers to support client development
• Engage in play-based learning activities that build trust and skills
• Assume a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crouching, sitting, standing) while working with children with developmental disabilities and severe behavior problems

Requirements

• Experience working with children (e.g., childcare, tutoring, teaching, coaching)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (bus and Uber are not considered reliable)
• Access to a mobile device and ability to navigate technology platforms such as Zoom and email
• Physically able to participate in all aspects of ABA therapy, including kneeling, squatting, crouching, sitting, and standing
• Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work
• Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication
• Availability 4–5 weekdays between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., working 4–5 hours per day within that window

Pay

• $20/hour starting pay, with opportunities for increase as early as 6 months (higher for candidates already RBT certified)

Schedule

Part-time, 4–5 weekdays per week between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., with 4–5 hour sessions per day. Specific schedules are assigned based on client needs. Many new hires begin working with a client within 2 weeks of applying.
