Behavior Technician

About the Role

Start a meaningful career supporting children with autism while earning a nationally recognized credential. As a Part-Time Behavior Technician, you’ll work one-on-one with a child in their home, implementing personalized behavior plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role is ideal for individuals interested in psychology, education, social work, behavioral health, or working with children. No prior ABA experience is required—we provide free training and certification.

Our technicians typically work 4–5 afternoon/evening shifts per week with the same client for 4–5 hour sessions, building consistent relationships that help children make meaningful progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children in their homes by implementing individualized behavior plans created by your BCBA supervisor.
• Teach communication, social, and daily living skills using positive reinforcement strategies.
• Collect session data and write progress notes.
• Collaborate with your BCBA and caregivers to support client development.
• Engage in play-based learning activities that build trust and skills.

Requirements

• Experience working with children (e.g., childcare, tutoring, teaching, coaching).
• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (bus and Uber are not considered reliable).
• Access to a mobile device and ability to navigate technology platforms such as Zoom and email.
• Physically able to participate in all aspects of ABA therapy, including assuming various postures (kneeling, squatting, crouching, sitting, standing).
• Visual acuity to assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.
• Able to receive detailed information through oral communication.

Behavior Technicians must be available 4–5 weekdays between 3:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., working 4–5 hours per day within that window. Specific schedules are assigned based on client needs.

Pay

• $20/hour starting pay with opportunities for pay increase as early as 6 months (higher for candidates already RBT certified).
• Pay increase after completing RBT certification.
