Behavior Support Specialist

About the role

Bancroft is a leading nonprofit service-provider for individuals across the lifespan with autism and related diagnoses. We provide a full continuum of highly effective services rooted in evidence-based practices and scientifically proven techniques, including special education, vocational training, supported employment, residential supports, and short-term behavioral stabilization services.

The Children’s Community Residential Program serves children, primarily with ASD and related diagnoses, who experience behavioral challenges. The residential treatment program uses an interdisciplinary approach to care, rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis. Behavior Support Specialists work under the close supervision of LBAs to assess and treat challenging behavior, build skills, and collaborate with a large group of like-minded clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Create and coordinate the development and implementation of behavior analytic services within the Individual Service Plan and Behavior Intervention Plan, with LBA oversight.
• Coordinate the development, implementation, and training of behavior plans, including functional behavior assessment/analysis, preference assessments, and treatment evaluations.
• Develop and monitor data collection systems, engage in ongoing data review and analysis to ensure effective programming.
• Identify training needs and develop and conduct trainings to ensure the ongoing knowledge and ability to effectively implement behavior plans.
• Participate in clinical case review meetings (rounds) to ensure proper data review and discussion of the needs of persons served.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of six months experience in Human Services or related field required.
• In programs where the incumbent is required to serve as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), one year of experience is required.
• Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 12 p.m.–8 p.m.

Pay

$23.15–$23.62/hour plus differential.
