Behavior Specialist I
Initial compensation ranges from $28.48 - $35.02 per hour, depending on experience, location, and internal equity considerations. Additional differentials include an 8% license differential for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD, and select Peer Certifications, as well as a 7.5% bilingual differential for qualified positions.

About Our Program
IFSP supports youth ages 6-15. IFSP utilizes a community-based team approach providing counseling, case management, behavioral support, parent coaching, occupational therapy, and community resourcing to families with complex needs. Staff provides a higher frequency of services to support family needs.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 9 am - 6 pm, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct services to youth and families.
- Assists teams in developing a hypothesis of function and underlying unmet needs to create individualized, strength-based strategies and interventions for positive behavior change.
- Develops intervention plans that support behavior reduction while incorporating strengths into skill development, including timelines, proactive and reactive strategies, and transition plans for youth and families.
- Engages in therapeutic opportunities during crisis situations and provides corrective experiences.
- Offers constructive feedback and creative suggestions for non-aversive behavior change approaches to all team members.
- Models, trains, and practices behavioral interventions and skill development plans with children, families, and natural supports.
- Demonstrates professional behavior, maintaining positive relations with customers and modeling these values internally and externally.
- Attends and participates in weekly supervision, staff meetings, in-service training, and treatment team meetings.
- Actively participates in continuous quality improvement processes and projects.
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned to support department and business needs.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and one or more years of relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience (two years of relevant experience equals one year of education).
- Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs, developmental disabilities, or emotional/behavioral challenges in school-based, community, or residential settings.
- Familiarity with behavioral intervention strategies, crisis de-escalation, and positive behavior support.
- CPR, First Aid, or crisis intervention certification, or willingness to obtain.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Driving may be required. Position may have unsupervised contact with children and requires a full background check and TB exam.
