Behavior Resource Assistant

About the role

Provides behavior support for students and promotes positive behaviors. May work in a focus room setting or primarily with specific students who have heightened behavior issues, including students who are verbally abusive; students who present a risk of physical harm to themselves or others; or students who have outbursts that involve throwing objects or damaging property. This position differs from Structured Support-SEA in that this employee is not working in a self-contained special education class setting, but rather with the general population.

Responsibilities

• Deliver behavior support to students in need
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students

Requirements

• Two years of college (minimum 72 credits in academic coursework)
• Associates Degree or higher
• Pass the Highly Qualified exam

Schedule

• 6.75 hours per day
• 179 days on a 9-month elementary calendar
