Job Type Full-time Description Overview If you're passionate about supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioral development and making a meaningful difference in their lives, we have a special opportunity for you. We're seeking a dedicated Behavior Assistant to join our team and provide individualized support that helps children build positive behaviors, develop essential skills, and thrive in a nurturing learning environment. Key areas of responsibility Partner with the Behavior Specialist to implement program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.Use reflective practices to support teachers in the consistent and accurate implementation of program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.Maintain accurate documentation of mental health services for children.Provide training on program-wide and child-specific strategies and procedures.Complete a minimum of 15 clock hours of professional development per year.Other duties as designed. Requirements Qualifications A minimum of a high school diploma. RBT Certification (Registered Behavior Technician) or ability to earn certification within four weeks of hire. Experience working with young children (0-5) in educational or mental health settings.Strengths-based, non-punitive approach to behavior. Knowledge of social-emotional development and trauma-informed care.Bilingual English Spanish preferred. Pass a criminal history, background, and sex offender registry check. A driver’s license, auto insurance, reliable transportation, and a safe driving record. Complete an employment physical exam.Be available to travel to centers throughout the service area and agency. Be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends as required. Competencies Success in this position requires competence in the following areas: Use of Microsoft Office software suite (e.g., Office 365, Teams, Sharepoint).Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage time and resources efficiently.Ability to collect and interpret behavioral dataStrong intrapersonal skills, including self-awareness, emotional regulation, professional presence, and enthusiasm.Ability to manage crises and support de-escalationStrong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to build positive, strengths-based relationships that are culturally responsive and trauma-informed.Strong interpersonal, coaching, and team-building skills.Ability to support children, families, and staff from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams. Salary Description $15.70-$17.62
