Behavior Peer Coach/Interventionist
Job Summary
The Behavior Specialist will provide critical behavioral support services within the middle school settings, working closely with administrators, teachers, and staff. This role focuses on supporting students with behavioral and emotional challenges, both in general and special education environments. The successful candidate will design and implement positive behavior interventions, contributing to a proactive and inclusive school climate.
Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral support services to students with behavioral and emotional challenges in middle school settings.
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and staff to develop and implement positive behavior interventions.
- Serve as a resource for staff managing students with challenging behaviors, providing guidance and support.
- Offer daily oversight of students' behavior, working closely with building administrators and the Special Education Coordinator.
- Ensure compliance with district policies and legal frameworks such as IDEA and Section 504.
Requirements
- Work experience in behavioral teaching.
- Hold a Professional Educator License (PEL) or an advanced degree related to working with students who are disregulated.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of district policies and legal frameworks such as IDEA and Section 504.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and provide effective support to students.
- Experience in designing and implementing positive behavior interventions.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of behavior modification techniques.
