About the role

Welcome to Spring Lake Park Schools! We serve about 6,200 students from Blaine, Fridley, and Spring Lake Park, in the northern Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area. Primary Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior plans customized and personalized for students to reinforce preferred behavior
  • Perform general data collection tasks for progress monitoring student success
  • Work with students with emotional/behavior issues
  • Work comfortably with students in individual, small group, and large group environments, in both general and special education settings
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and work independently
  • Provide behavior support to students in collaboration with teachers
  • Participate in and provide information for team meetings related to student success and next actions

Qualifications

  • Holding either a high school diploma or a GED certificate
  • Completed 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits and/or AA degree OR passed the ParaPro Assessment
  • The ParaPro Assessment is available in the Human Resources Office and can be taken after a job offer is obtained, contact Human Resources with questions at 763-600-5010
  • Ability to pass a pre-work physical and complete PCA training
  • Experience using computers and other technology equipment
  • Ability to act in a leadership role and independently initiate and follow through on tasks, under minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills in working with students, families, and community representatives, and in collaborating with school personnel

  • Physical demands include ability to lift 40 pounds; frequent bending and/or twisting; potential physical restraint of students

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Group: Paraprofessionals
  • Rate of Pay: $20.75-$24.20/hr
  • Benefits: Sick Leave, 403(b), medical, dental, life, LTD
  • Additional $0.75/hr differential if employee holds a bachelor's degree
